My teaser today is from Great House
by Nicole Krauss. I've just started it and the format is interesting. Each chapter is from a different point of view, with each narrator talking to a different unknown character. It's a little confusing so far, but once I get farther in, I think I'll get the hang of it.
"I was cutting the vegetables when the knife slipped and sliced deeply into my thumb, and at the instant I shouted out I heard a double of my own cry, one belonging to a child. It seemed to come from the other side of the wall, in the next apartment over" (pg. 32).
